Ten HOFfing and puffing down Whitton's neck

Wim Ten Hof of the Hollandse Club Blues is huffing and puffing down Stephen Whitton's neck in the goal scorers' chart. Ten Hof overtook his team mate, Pascal Blanchet and moved into 2nd spot, albeit 5-goals adrift of Whitton. With only one game left to play, Ten Hof would need to score 5 times and hope Whitton shoots blanks (insofar as goals are concerned ;)) to win the top goal scorer title. Blanchet needs one more to bag the accolade. Meanwhile, the Hockey Village People man need only hope for the others to fail and will become the top scorer.

Temasek and Hollandse Club Blue secure grand finals slots

Singapore, 16 June 09: Temasek secured their passage to the Grand finals with a convincing 7-1 win over Mucha Hockey. The solid win gave them 11 points and with it ticket to the finals against Hollandse Club Blue who needed only a solitary point against club rivals Hollandse Club Oranje. However the in form Blues won 4-0 and got 11 points to ensure they top the table ahead of the finals. The table topping performance is important as now al they need is a draw in the finals to win the inaugural SVHA 8on8 League Masters 2009 Season title.

Meanwhile, Hollandse Club Oranje were ousted from the 3rd and 4th placing games following their 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Blues. They will not play for pride against Hockey Village People, who will contest the 3rd and 4th placing game against the winner of Mucha Hockey and Merlions next week.

The finals and 3rd and 4th placing games will be played on 29 June 09. We expect to see all members joining in the celebrations as we bring to a close an exciting 8on8 season of masters hockey.
